Here’s the clincher with Pequod’s Pizza: they have this awesome way of burning the crust on the edges so that the crust caramelizes, you eat it, and then your taste buds simultaneously implode and explode.
This is the pizza place you take out-of-towners to when they ask you to present the best pizza in Chicago. I once ordered Pequods for my buddy’s bachelor party and throughout the night all everyone talked about was how good the pizza was. I found the bachelor alone on a lawn chair eating a cold slice at 2am with a huge smile on his face.
Also literally every time I have ordered delivery the pizza is EXACTLY the same. I don’t know what kind of ritual they perform to make sure the pizza is always consistently awesome, but it’s powerful, old, and dark magic.

Ah yes, Pequod’s. Probably the best pizza I’ve had, not only in the city either. Sadly, the last time I visited the place I got dumped soon thereafter. A remarkable place, not only for memories like that but for the food!

Sorry to hear about the dumping, but I’m glad you like Pequod’s as much as I do. Btw, if you like Pequod’s, give this place a try: https://mattstaste.com/paulie-gees-chicago-logan-square/
