Mexican Chicago

Lonesome Rose (Chicago)

There’s a lot of good Mexican Food in Logan Square. There’s also a lot of good hipster cocktail joints. Now combine the two and add some hot sauce. Voila, you have Lonesome Rose.

Jackie loves the nachos. They are fantastic.

Lonesome Rose’s food is best described as fancy-shmancy Mexican food dolled up with local hipster-Chef ingredients.

Mushroom taco, fish taco, pork belly taco.

One of the best parts of Lonesome Rose is the pricing. You can get a Mexican bowl or tacos chock-full of interesting fresh ingredients and perfectly-cooked proteins for only a couple bucks more than a couple of tacos at Chipotle.

You won’t find this at Chipotle.

Lonesome Rose is a place to party, but hushedly. Tables are commonly filled with an eclectic mix of Logan Square locals drinking fancy infused Mexican-style cocktails and beer. It’s not a place to “party” but more of a “have a couple of drinks at brunch” vibe. They also have a roof deck and outdoor al fresco seating.

Pretty Elote.

Lonesome Rose is a great place to hang out with your significant other or some friends, have a cocktail, and enjoy some moderately-priced Chef-y Mexican Food. Every time we’ve been the service has been stellar. Lonesome Rose is the type of place that could charge WAY more for what they offer, but lucky for us, they don’t.

I just don't want to look back and think "I could've eaten that."
